SEPT 26TH 2009 | WILD IN THE PARKS CHAMPIONSHIPS | RIO VISTA SKATEPARK — PEORIA, AZ
This past Saturday brought out the finest collection of amateur skateboarders to the Rio Vista Skatepark for the season ender of the WITP Champs. With 212 competitors all skating in well over 100 degree weather, you knew it was going to be a long hot day of pure talent. The kids started showing up well before the contest started just to get some practice in and work on their tricks for the day.
All the kids were stoked to win the big cash prizes and couldn’t wait for the product give-a-ways!
The groms in the 14 & Under division kicked it off and really set the bar high for the 15 & Over and Pro-Am divisions to follow them up.
The “OOOHS & AAAHS” from the crowds in all three zones were making each and every competitor take it to the next level. So by the time the sun was setting and the finals were underway the real talent and competitive attitudes were starting to shine.

SEPT 10TH-12TH 2009 | ELECTRIC DOMINATES ASR | SAN DIEGO, CA
ASR is done and what a great showing for ELECTRIC and the new 4ef (4 Eyed Freaks) campaign. The Heartache made its first appearance and the response was amazing. Women and retailers cannot wait to get their hands on it. Look for this piece to hit a store near you soon.
Ry Craike’s new movie “there’s no I in Go Ry” was a huge success. The Bondi Bar was filled to the brim with about 600 people. Fuel TV covered it, Rockstar girls were rocking the photo booth, and we even had some of the best surfers of old and new in attendance like Matthew Hoy. A handful of guests were able to pick up their specialty Ry hats which included hidden treasures like signed Ry SUPERbrand surfboards, Rockstar summer packages, leashes and deck pads from Creatures of Leisure, and some of the newest style of shades from ELECTRIC.
The Goons Of Doom played a great set and Chris Cote and Josh Hartley brought it home with some great tunes. Overall a smash hit that was talked about at the show the whole next day.
Thanks to Ry and his crew for the movie and thanks to all that helped to make this night the best party of ASR.
ELECTRIC sales team killed it at the Hard Rock pool the following night with an open bar so retailers were able to pull away from the scene and just kick back with the ELECTRIC crew. Our XL case looks great poolside along with all the ELECTRIC inner tubes floating around!
Electric’s Gony Zubizarreta (Spain), 24 years, won the 5* San Miguel Pro Zarautz co-sponsored by Electric. Always consistent through the four days of competition, Gony was unstoppable during the entire contest. He just showed an amazing level of surf with radical maneuvers and Rocked Zarautz in front of tons of people. Gony’s performance is guaranteed to jump into the ASP WQS Tour Top 20 and getting closer to the 10,000 point mark.
“It’s a dream coming true right now, I can’t believe I have won that event,” Gony said. “Since I left the junior series I have been looking to make a final in a major event and I have finally won my first one ever so I couldn’t hope for anything better. I was feeling good this week and almost at home with the huge support and I was pretty relaxed in the final, just letting my surfing flow and it went right. I am just stoked.”
Electric would like to congratulate and give a huge shout out to Gony for this huge result.
Go Gony, Go Gony!!

Electric’s Superstar, Ry Craike, has released his highly anticipated movie “There’s No I in Go Ry” at The Neverland Bar on the Gold Coast.
According to Craike, “the movie is a bunch of high performance surfing from all parts of Australia plus Indonesia, South America and the USA. There’s also a bunch of lifestyle stuff in there which shows the unique way of life in North West WA.” The movie has been 18 months in the making and as Craike beams, “has been one of the best experiences of my life.”
The movie is being directed and produced by Rick Rifici who has been involved in some of the world’s best surf movies over the past 15 years.
“It’s been a pleasure to make this movie and tell Ry’s story,” said Rifici. “We have been mates for quite a while now and I just love his energy and obviously his freakish surfing talent.”
“There’s No I in Go Ry” is now getting set for one huge rocking show in San Diego this Thursday night at the Bondi Bar, live performance by ‘Goons of Doom’ and plenty of fun times with Ry and friends. See you all there!!
