MARCH 28TH, 2010 | VANS PIER CLASSIC | HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA
The 2010 Vans Pier Classic and Ezekiel Pro Junior Presented by Jacks was a ASP WQS 2 star event. ELECTRIC was a co-sponsor of this event which make it ELECTRIC’s 4th ASP sanctioned event to date. For 5 days the sun was out and the waves were pumping. Surfers from around the globe took to stage and showed off their talents.
ELECTRIC team rider and 2007 past champion, Micah Byrne, found himself in a similar situation but made the final of the WQS. While Micah was sitting on a 9.6 and in the lead, Hawaiian Dylan Goodale was able to throw down a big score knocking Micah Byrne into 2nd. With Mother Nature not on Micah’s side this time he would have to settle for 2nd.
Newport local and past finalists Andrew Doheny had been a standout through-out the event so things were looking good for a “W”. Andrew was close to the lead only needing a high 6 to vault him into the lead. Andrew did this dropping a 9.5 with some on rail surfing. Unfortunately this heat showcased some of the best surfing ever with the likes of Kalohe Andino, Tyler Newton, and Luke Davies. Andrew finished a respectable 3rd and left feeling that he had a great event.
ELECTRIC as a sponsor was able to have an online question each day where people that were not able to see the action live could watch from the comfort of their own homes and win prizes. If you were down at the event and working on your tan, ELECTRIC had their hat press where you could score a free hat and if you bought a pair of shades at Jacks HB you were lucky enough to receive a free hat as well. Great event for all the sponsors and competitors. We look forward to next year.
After stopping by the Electric Booth at SIA in Denver, RZA performed during a SIA party at Mile High Station wearing his pair of Electric’s Vegus sunglasses in Gold!
Introducing the Vegus.
While we have more than enough cowbell, and our glue has plenty of horse in it, we don’t make nearly enough wire-framed shades! Enter Vegus, a stylish piece of striking authority that pays attention to fluid lines and tight colorways. Light, sturdy and at a price even the most destitute vagrant can afford, these shades are a key element to any good road trip… or acid trip for that matter. In a pinch the metal frames can be fashioned into a prison shank should things get a little spicy.
Available in 4 colors including:

MARCH 23, 2010 | PAT MOORE’S BACK TO THE BONEYARD | WATERVILLE VALLEY, NH
Check out the behind the scenes vlog from Pat Moore!
Electric’s Pat Moore held his 2nd annual “Back To The Boneyard” Contest at his home mountain Waterville Valley. Waterville Valley is based in New Hampshire were Pat grew up and has been known for the “Boneyard” which was one of the first snowboard parks on the east coast back in the day.

Pat’s Contest provides old School locals and new school rippers a chance to come out and donate their entry fee to Pat’s scholarship and enjoy a day of remembrance of Pat’s child-hood shred hill. Rainy weather could have killed the contest, but as Pat’s Mom Deb said “anyone can have a good contest when the sun is out”, still the Buzzards of New Hampshire came out to enjoy a day that the good people of Waterville provided for them.

New England shreds definitely get a high five in our book for coming out and supporting there local hero in his pursue to give back to the mountain where he became a Legend. Big Shout out to Deb Moore, the Waterville Marketing Team, Luke Mathison his crew, Paul Danchak, and all the other Waterville Valley Locals.
