APRIL 19, 2010 | THE VOLCOM TO PARADISE VQS CHAMPIONSHIPS | MANLY BEACH, AUSTRALIA
The Volcom to Paradise VQS Championships was held at Manly Beach over the past weekend with perfect 2 to 3 foot waves over the two day competition. Surfers from all around Australia and New Zealand came to complete in hopes to win themselves a return ticket to the USA for next month’s World VQS Championships.
Volcom as always played great hosts to all who came down to visited Manly Beach, with loads of great games like pass the Pineapple, coconut bowling and the famous Volcom Putt-off. Everyone that came down over the week-end went home with a prize and a huge smile on their face.
Competitors who made it through to the finals day of competition were stepping it up a notch with news of Electric throwing down $500 in the Electric treasure booty for the best maneuver of the event. Surfers in every division were going big and in the end it was local surfer Dan Karen who took home the Electric Bolt thrower award for pulling off a massive Passion Pop in his Quarter final heat. This years surfing action was nothing short of mind blowing and we were all happy to see Merewether’s Jake Sylvester and local boy Robbie France go home with a return ticket to the USA for The World VQS Championships next month at Newport Beach California.
Electric would like to thank everyone that competed and came down to make the 2010 champs such a fun day. We look forward to seeing every-one at the next VQS Crustaceous Tour 2010/2011. View more photos and a full event report on the Volcom Blog.
As this months issue talks about the increase of Surf Hardgood sales, what better way to start the talk then to have Puerto Rico’s Dylan Graves pulling into a amazing barrel. Check out the issue for more information in boardsports news.

APRIL 10TH, 2010 | BASHAS’ SUPERMARKETS 200 | PHOENIX, AZ
This has not been the best start to 2010 for Kyle Busch but this weekend would be another story. Rowdy Busch had all the odds working against him. With numerous penalties, Kyle would have to work his way back to the front 2 separate times. Kyle was sitting in 12th with 7 laps to go. He would drive his car to victory and not look back.
One of the best wins of his career. Congrats Kyle on the Victory!!
