JUNE 26-27, 2010 | MOSKITO TOUR PRESENTED BY ELECTRIC | SAUSSET LES PINS, FRANCE
The Moskito Tour 2010 is Back on the Mediterranean Coast!
The 2010 Moskito Tour presented by Electric, Vans, SkullCandy, FCS and Monster Energy Drink was back for the Second time in Sausset les Pins, France.
About 40 surfers from south East of France (Marseille, Martigues, La Couronne, Carro…) under 18, came to the spot « La Corniche » this past Saturday the 26th to compete.
Unfortunately, due to the wave conditions the competition couldn’t take place, but good sunny weather and an amazing atmosphere were present all day long.
Games as paddling team race, big surf quiz and a tattoo contest with a new record of more than 300 tattoos sticked were organized during the day with a lot of gifts from our partners for the winners.
Special thanks to all the crew of Sausset Surf Club and all the partners.
SATURDAY, JUNE 26TH, 2010 | ISF SKATEBOARDING WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS | BOSTON, MASSACHUSETTS
PLG takes the Vert Win and becomes ISF World Champ. With four 30-second runs allotted in the 12-minute finals, the ordered jam rewarded event winner Pierre-Luc Gagnon for his consistency and endless flip tricks, naming him the 2010 ISF Skateboarding World Champ and Dew Tour points leader.
PLG’s highest scored runs included a big 540 into a kickflip mute, another big 540 over the channel, then four flip tricks back-to-back. He busted out a kickflip melon, kickflip Indy, kickflip mute to fakie and switch heelflip 360. Even after nailing his runs, he couldn’t help thinking about Bob and Bucky missing from the final competition.
Electric would like to extend a huge shout out to PLG for being one of the best Vert skaters in the world and continuing to be on top at every contest he enters.
JUNE 26TH, 2010 | NEW ENGLAND 200 | NEW HAMPSHIRE MOTOR SPEEDWAY
Busch is Rock Solid in the Granite State
Kyle Busch does it again. After sitting on the sidelines the past 3 race, KB didn’t miss a beat. He lead 126 of the 200 lap event.
With this win Kyle also broke the record held by Mark Martin for most laps led is the Nationwide series. This ties Kyle for second place in the Nationwide series for most wins.
The next event is the Subway 250 from Daytona July 2nd, at 5pm PST.
On June 24th, 2010 the second annual Electric So-Cal Shootout took place on the battlefield of Camp Pendleton. This event was much scarier and deadlier than year one.
We don’t know if the accounts were mad at June Gloom or if they just really wanted the August Bl!sss Ad but they were not happy when the whistle blew.
First, let us discuss the contestants.
Team Sun Diego was made up of the same crew from last year and these guys are of course the original Champions.
Team Spyder was a little more prepared in year two bringing some dude claiming he was sponsored by a paintball company. I am still scratching my head trying to figure out what that means but after Bruce Beach was attacked execution style I guess that should have been enough said. Our fearless Electric leader thought he was General Custer at Little Big Horn but the Indians were actually super pissed Hermosa Beach locals.
Team Jacks was new to the event this year and although they had the best mojo and attitude they were as bad on the battlefield as Team Electric.
Team Electric was made up our top department managers and founders. We operate great in the water and on the mountain but if you want to see a fish out of water just get us to participate in a paintball activity. We were terrible and finished in last place just like last year.
Team Spyder took the crown and will get the advertisement in the August edition of Bl!sss Magazine. Be on the lookout for their ad this summer.
Awards:
Best Fighting Rep: Jani Lange and newly hired partner Peter Lange are not tall. This helps in paintball. They are short like gnomes but aggressive like trolls. They helped lead their team to victory and proved they are not just the hardest working reps in the industry but also the hardest fighting.
Best Mojo: Jimmy from Jacks is jolly and was really nice to everybody win, lose, or draw. Thanks for coming out Jimmy!
Best Execution: I am not sure of the assassins name but this dude from Spyder straight f#@*ed up Bruce Beach. He not only lit him up from point blank range but actually brought him to his knees. It is not easy to bring Mr. Bruce Beach to his knees.
A big thanks goes out to Jacks, Sun Diego, and the So-Cal Shootout Champions for 2010 Spyder.
Electric’s young speedster, Conor Daly, was dominate Saturday night winning the Pizza Ranch 100 at Iowa Speedway. Conor stunk up the show for the competition by leading the whole race from the green flag to the checkered.
This was Conor’s 4th race win in a row and it looks like he is going to run away in the championship points standings.
Next stop for Conor and his Juncos sponsored Star Formula Mazda will be June 26-27 at New Jersey Motorsports Park. The race will be televised live on HDNet.
JUNE 19 – 20, 2010 | PAC SUN BEACH BALLYHOO | SANTA MONICA PIER, CA
PacSun’s Beach Ballyhoo went down this past weekend at the Santa Monica Pier which turned out to be a two day beach party featuring some of the most buzzed about bands as well as tons of activities and FREE shwag from some of the top leading brands in our industry.
In true Electric fashion we teamed up with Volcom to absolutely dominate and crush the entire event.
Staying with Volcom’s Circus Clown theme Electric brought in it’s own flair with a Ping Pong Ball and Fishbowl Game where kids were not only trying to win Electric gear and goldfish by making the ping pong balls in the bowls but some brave kids were willing to suck down a few live goldfish for their favorite pair of shades.
Big thanks to PacSun for throwing the best beach party ever and to everyone who came out to support it and get their Carni on, see you next summer!
