JULY 29TH, 2010 | ELECTRIC EUROPE PRESENTS ART SHADE EXPO | HOSSEGOR, FRANCE
On Friday 30th July, the Volcom Store in Hossegor will welcome the first Electric Art Shade Expo.
What’s the Electric Art Shade Expo?
Electric Europe approached 5 French artists and proposed them to design unique pieces from different styles of our sunglasses collection.
The day of the exhibition, you will have the opportunity to see the artistic work made by Fanny Fleuraux, Bizmut, David Tchag, Feustay and Lucas Beaufort. They worked a few months customising our shades, turning them into paintings, sculptures, and more… To date, the artists are still at work and we will have about 30 pieces to show.
After the stop in Hossegor, there should be other demonstrations in France.
At the end of these exhibitions, showpieces will be put up for auction online. Collected funds will be given to an association or a charity chosen by the artists.

Taylor Steele’s film competition Innersection has captured the attention of free surfers world wide. With a cash prize of $100,000 for the highest voted video section come finals time on December 1st.
Surfers all around the world have been working hard to create a section like no other. Electric’s Ozzie Wright traveled to Bali for what was meant to be a couple weeks surfing with friends and family, but with a constant swell and endless options of perfect waves Ozzie decided to hang in Bali and give this Innersection comp a go. With a variety of classic crafts, some amazing barrel rides and of coarse his very own tune recorded for this clip, Ozzie proves the oldest surfer to enter this competition so far has what it takes to still be one of surfing’s favorites.
