VOLCOM’S PBRJ STOP #1 | SIERRA-AT-TAHOE | JANUARY 7TH, 2012
This past Saturday Volcom kicked off their 2012 Peanut Butter and Rail Jam season at Sierra-At-Tahoe.
With about 100 competitors all ready to get their shred on, the contest kicked off with the 15 & Under division. Which was followed up by the 16 & Over, Girls and Open divisions all fighting to make it to finals to win an invitation to the 2012 PBRJ Championships in Mammoth, CA.
Despite the gnarly wind that mother nature was gracing us with that day the competitors definitely did not let that stop them from hitting all 3 zones in their heat.
Zone 1 was the down flat down rail, Zone 2 was the cannon rail to barrel bonk and Zone 3 was the down rail.
The highlight of the day was Sawyer Deen winning Electric’s “Gooyest Move of the Event” for his FS 270 in 270 out on the kink rail. Huge thanks to the Volcom PBRJ Crew for kicking the season off right! For more Volcom PBRJ info and a full schedule go to http://www.volcom.com/pbrj/index.asp?seasonId=23

2ND ANNUAL SPYDER SNOW FEST | HERMOSA BEACH, CA | DECEMBER 10TH, 2011
This past Saturday Spyder brought back Mt. Hermosa for the 2nd Annual Spyder Snow Fest. Once again Pier Ave was transformed into a 20 ft hill covered with 60 tons of snow and an assortment of snowboard rails, boxes and even a 1982 Mercedes for the riders jibbing pleasure.
South Bay locals lined both sides of Mt. Hermosa while the 60 tons of snow was being blown so they could get front row for the action that was about to go down.
Before all the real action went down vendor village was going off down on Pier Plaza. All the top snow brands in the industry set up shop for the day playing games with kids, giving away prizes and promoting their new snow gear for the season.
The kids were loving the customized buttons they could make at the Electric tent and their free trucker hat they’d get with it as well but the crowd favorite was the Electric Jenga.
Parents and kids were lining up to get in on the next game while the crowds gathered around the tent to hear the roughs of “JENGA!” every time it toppled over.
After a few hours of playing games and getting as much free shwag as they could get the kids and parents finally headed up to see the amateur riders compete for the best trick award.
The riders didn’t waste any time trying to impress the judges.
They all wanted to make it to the final to win the $1000 Grand Prize and be crowned the King of Mt. Hermosa.
Congrats to Evan Heckman who was the lucky one who walked away with the check this year.
Thank you to Spyder for once again putting on an amazing event and bringing the snow to the beach.
FREEDOM HAWK ALBUM RELEASE OF “HOLDING ON” | KEFI, WILMINGTON, NC | DECEMBER 09, 2011

Following Gringo we got turned on to some killer new tunes from Wilmington, NC’s “Mountain Thrower”! Freedom Hawk’s closed it down with some amazing new stuff off their new album “Holding On”! People came from all over for the state to check it out!
Electric made their way over to Keystone Colorado over the past weekend for the 2011 Retail Concepts Ski Camp.
75 Retail Concept employees from all over the Midwest and East Coast came to the hill to demo and to educate themselves on all sorts of gear from snow brands throughout the industry.
This was Electric’s first year at this event and complete ownership might be an understatement. Electric set up a tent and demo station at the bottom of the main lift.
We had three solid days of passing out the newest goggles to the employees, riding with the shop crews, and having fun in true Electric fashion.
RC employees were running the gear all week and just about everyone walked away with a brand new pair of goggles from Team Electric.
Thank you Retail Concepts for getting us involved, we look forward to this camp next year!
