We had a great turnout for Freedom Hawk’s album release party at Kefi Friday night! Bands went on around standard bar time starting with some desert rock by “Gringo” from Raleigh, NC!
Following Gringo we got turned on to some killer new tunes from Wilmington, NC’s “Mountain Thrower”! Freedom Hawk’s closed it down with some amazing new stuff off their new album “Holding On”! People came from all over for the state to check it out!
Peep these photo’s from last Saturday at the Roxy in LA where Mayer Hawthorne had his record release party for his new album “How Do You Do”. Mayer was Rocking the Detroits the whole show.
Mayer Hawthorne is from Ann Arbor, MI. He used to be a big DJ and has a old Soul/Jazz vibe, and if you have ever heard any of his songs they seem like they were form the 60’s. If you haven’t heard any of his songs we have included a few below… enjoy.
Mayer is on a huge rise at the moment and after dropping his second album a few weeks ago, who knows what he has in store next. Mayer is an excellent artist and we are super hyped to have him representing Electric.
Trevor Andrew a.k.a “Trouble Andrew” is an artist, a designer, a personality and a music and snowboarding icon. Born in Nova Scotia, Canada, Trevor’s passion for snowboarding led him to relocate to Whistler, BC and eventually compete at events such as X-Games and the 1998 and 2002 Winter Olympics.
Trevor has made a name for himself in both the mainstream and underground circuit by pushing the boundaries and the sport through his strong presence at world class competitions and features in top snowboard films (Mack Dawg Productions, Absinthe Films, Whiteout Films).

We had 4 new Trouble signature glasses and goggle designs on the table in like 10 minutes of us brainstorming. We are on the same channel. So stoked to be part of the Electric Family.”
March is a huge month for Trouble Andrew as he also releases his second studio album. Mashing up his post Punk, Electro, Pop influences, the album Dreams of a Troubled Man drops on March 29th. ELECTRIC “SHIT SHOW” | WILMINGTON, NC | JANUARY 15TH, 2011
The “Electric Shit Show” party was just that!! A fu#king shit show! We set up shop late that afternoon and roped off part of the parking lot with caution tape and the Electric tent to make a legal smoking/BBQ/extra boozing area in case we had A.L.E. pay us a visit! Fortunately we did not but just to be safe! We BBQ’d burgers and dogs for everyone throughout the night while flossing out the crowd with some fresh Electric “shwag”!
Around 10 pm the place really started to go off with way more people than we expected maxing the bar capacity out by at least 100 people! The Valient Thorr boys showed up for a warm up night of rock n roll mayhem before starting their tour with Motorhead!
We raged into the wee hours of Sunday morning drinking the bar completely out of everything but PBR! Haha! Seriously! Collossus and Thunderlip absolutely blew the fu#king roof off the building!

APRIL 29, 2010 | ELECTRIC “DIRTY MEGA” PARTY! | WILMINGTON, NC
“Dirty Mega” is a house music party that goes down the thursday of every month at Club Odessa in Downtown Wilmington, NC with 4 local DJ’s including Electric Team Rider “Sir Nick Bland”!
This was the first Electric sponsored & promoted “Mega Party” and it was nothing short of just that! It started in Wrightsville Beach’s local Mexi hot spot “Tower 7″ for home town super star “Ben Bourgeois” to twist us up some pre-game cocktails as he celebrity bartended for a local fundraiser!
Once Benny clocked out everyone rallied downtown to turn it up a notch! The doors opened at 9pm and by 11pm the party was at maximum capacity! “Dirty Mega” absolutely raged to the point where half the boys had gotten kicked out a few times and somehow talked themselves back in. A.L.E., local Police, and the Fire Dept. showed up! Girls were dressed to a “T” dancing it up all night!
Electric threw out tons of promo to our supporters and the select few that were really doing it rolled out with some fresh shades! Thank you to everyone who came out! May have to skip next month to recover but we will do this again!!!!
The mostly reunited Sublime received great coverage from SPIN Magazine on it’s first stop of the band’s inaugural tour. Included in the coverage were great shots of Sublime’s new singer Rome wearing Electric’s Vegus – Platinum Green sunglasses, along side of Dave Foral, Dirty Heads Bassist wearing the G-Six – Tweed.
After a first solid album in 2008 “ In Loving Memory Of a Dead Rock Rock Band “, ED-ÄKE is working right now on a second album “Decadence And Poetry”. The second album, will be ready in Febuary 2010.
ED-ÄKE is really famous in France, growing in Europe and they’re 100% Electric!
OCTOBER 29TH 2009 | HELP IAN MCDOUGALL OF RIVERBOAT GAMBLERS | AUSTIN, TX
Below is a letter from the band Riverboat Gamblers.
Hello all,
It’s definitely been a trying few days. On the night of Saturday October 17th, while riding his bike home, a car hit Ian McDougall, guitarist of our band Riverboat Gamblers. He sustained some pretty heavy injuries including a broken hip, a broken wrist and hemmoraging under the skull along with many lacerations, torn ligaments, bruises and and scrapes.
He was rushed by ambulance to Brackenridge hospital in Austin and stayed in the ICU for 2 days before being moved into his own room where he is undergoing physical therapy while awaiting the results on X-rays and MRIs as well as a deluge of other various tests.
That being said, the prognosis is better than we had first thought. We are happy that he is going to be ok and that he is alive and with us. Unfortunately, not only is he in for a long recovery and is in a lot of pain, but he will be celebrating his birthday in bed with hospital food.
On another unfortunate note, there are a pile of bills currently gaining a Mt. Everest-like summit from all his hospital expenses. We set up a PayPal account for our band mate and friend to try and help him get on top of the debt and focus on his recovery. His PayPal account email is ian.gambler@gmail.com. Anything you can afford to give will be greatly appreciated by Ian and his family. Thank you all for your support and we wish Ian the speediest of recoveries.
