Electric’s Smoke’N Mirrors Collection earned a feature in the Randoms section of August 2010′s BL!SSS Magazine. The feature stated…
“This phrase is so unanimous with so much that goes on in our industry that it makes me chuckle. Though, in this particular occasion that’s exactly what Electric is selling. Not for the faint hearted, this limited Smoke’N Mirrors Collection is a series of matte black frames with a plethora of mind-blending, color chromed lenses. There’s a little something for everyone and a lot of nothing for no one – so head on over to your local shop and hook your face up.”

AUG 21ST, 2010 | ELECTRIC’S KYLE BUSCH DOES THE HAT TRICK AND MAKES HISTORY!
Electric’s Kyle Busch scored the elusive hat trick at Bristol (Tenn.) Motor Speedway by winning Saturday’s Irwin Tools Night Race NASCAR Sprint Cup Series event. The 25 year old swept all three of the NASCAR races at the .533-mile oval, winning the Camping World Truck Series race Wednesday night and the Nationwide Series race Friday night before wheeling his No. 18 Doublemint Toyota to victory in Saturday night’s Sprint Cup race.

“It means a lot,” said Busch after notching his 19th career Sprint Cup victory. “I’m out of breath. I’ve been screaming the whole time. Normally you take your time to get your breath back, but I used it all up. What a great race car.” Kyle went on to thank his crew for their flawless pit stops all night saying, “these guys are awesome.”

Busch led four times for a race high 282 laps in Saturday night’s race, and coupled with his victories in the Nationwide and Truck Series events, the Las Vegas native led 514 of a possible 956 laps throughout the weekend.

“It’s pretty cool because when you come so close and then don’t get it, it’s pretty frustrating,” said Busch, who now has 78 victories across NASCAR’s top three divisions. “I mean, last year we won the truck race and were leading the Nationwide race and we got crashed out, and then we ended up winning the Cup race. So this is probably a year delayed. I’m just real appreciative of what was able to happen tonight. It’s cool to be able to put it all together and win all three races.”

With 24 of 36 races in the books, Kyle bumped up five spots to 3rd place overall with only two races remaining before the Chase.

The Sprint Cup Series takes a rare weekend off before returning to action at Atlanta Motor Speedway for the September 5 Emory Healthcare 500. The race starts at 4:30pm PST on ESPN.

AUG 7TH – 8TH, 2010 | ELECTRIC AT THE HARD ROCK POOL | LAS VEGAS, NV
This past weekend marked our annual Electric Trunk Show out at the Hard Rock Pool in Las Vegas. We set up shop poolside all day Saturday and Sunday slanging shades and putting out the vibe.

Every person who bought a pair of sunglasses got stoked out with a FREE Electric inner tube, which was the hot item at the pool all weekend.

To get the crowd going we also had a few “Booty Shaking” contests throughout the day and a few lucky ReHab’ers left with some sweet sunnies.

Between all the sunglasses sold and the Hard Rock staff rockin’ the Volt, Electric was definitely dominating the scene this weekend. Thanks to the Hard Rock for letting us come out and take over their pool again this year and to everyone for shakin’ that thang. Volt domination once again!

JULY 31ST – AUG 8TH, 2010 | ELECTRIC DOMINATES AT THE US OPEN OF SURFING | HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA
The 2010 US Open of Surfing has finally come to an end. With over 500,000 people attending, you could say there was a lot of action with surfing, skating, BMX, and many vendors showing their stuff.

ELECTRIC’s team riders surfed well, but in the end it was local talent Brett Simpson taking the $100,000 for the 2nd year in a row.

The action wasn’t exclusive to the beach as there were some great ELECTRIC signings as well. HSS and Jacks hosted these fun-filled times where anyone could meet riders like Dusty Payne, Gabe Kling, Jay Davies, Craig Anderson, Kalani Robb and several more.

If you got there early enough you received an official ELECTRIC “Open” hat along with a signed “10 Year” Poster. Some guests were even lucky enough to receive a fresh pair of ELECTRIC sunglasses, but only if you broke your own on the spot!

Inside the shop, a purchase of a pair of Electric sunglasses gave you a brand new hat. This was a great event and a killer ELECTRIC showing. See you all next year!!

Lyn-Z Adams Hawkins Take home the Silver Medal. Lyn-Z is one of the worlds best Women’s Vert skater and if she would have landed her Mctwist, she not only would have won but also be the first Girl to land a Mctwist in a contest run.

Electric’s young Australian Jarryd McNeil took home a Silver Medal doing some of the best turn downs I have ever witnessed in Best Whip. Jarryd pretty much through his bike around like it was a toy. Stay tuned for this young Moto star as we will be seeing more and more of him.

JULY 31ST, 2010 | 5TH ANNUAL D-MAN FESTIVAL | DIVE N’ SURF, REDONDO BEACH, CA
This past weekend was the 5th Annual D-Man Festival at Dive N’ Surf in Redondo Beach to raise money for The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. The D-Man Festival was created after Dive N’ Surf employee and long time South Bay local surfer Darren “D-Man” Marsee who passed away from Lymphoma in 2005.

This year was an absolute success, more than 1600 people attended helping raise over $25,000 for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, blasting previous year’s numbers out of the water!

Electric’s booth was the place to be with our spray paint stencils, covering everyone that came through head to toe. You could see the volt sprayed all over people’s stomachs, backs, arms, legs, faces and even heads! Hats were also being sprayed with Electric’s Volt, along with back packs, t-shirts, and even cell phones.

Tomorrow’s Bad Seeds headlined with local bands Special C, Too Rude and Midnight Lamp rocking the place all day.

Electric wants to thank everyone for coming out this year to support such a great cause and we hope to see even more next year!
